The Senior Proposal Coordinator/Technical Editor is responsible for providing coordination of the proposal process and editorial support to reports, proposals, and presentations. The person in this position works with consultants, other technical editors, and business development staff. Proposals, reports, and presentations vary in size and complexity, ranging from one to two pages/slides to large multi-author works spanning hundreds of pages or dozens of slides. The ideal candidate should have 10 to 15 years of technical editing experience (electrical engineering is a plus) in a deadline-driven environment.

The primary focus of this position is to support the integration of technology for emerging applications of power electronics and advanced controls and protection in energy systems (e.g., energy storage systems, Microgrids, etc.). The position requires hands-on experience and previous engagements in the development and troubleshooting of systems in the field or as part of integration process support in a laboratory environment. The candidate should have experience with programming/configuring control and automation devices and SCADA systems from various North American vendors, such as SEL (e.g., RTAC, AXION, SEL relays), Nova Tech (Orion LX), SCADA packages (e.g., Ignition, Simatic, Zenon, etc.). The successful candidate should demonstrate strong technical skills and proficiency in the integration process of utility control, monitoring, and automation systems. This position will lead a technical team that builds models, performs system studies, and verifies design with the use of hardware-in-the-loop testing of P&C systems in the laboratory environment for distributed energy solutions and microgrids. The successful candidate will be accountable for conceptual and primary design, modeling, analysis, and laboratory testing of Distributed Energy Systems including microgrids, energy storage-based systems for non-wire alternatives, captive power plants, and grid automation applications. The candidate should have 10+ years of experience and in-depth knowledge of Protection and Control (P&C) systems, distributed control systems, distribution automation, and system interconnections in the areas of renewable energy systems and microgrids.
