POSITION OVERVIEW

The AMI Advisor will work closely with and learn from Quanta Technology’s team of industry-leading advisors and technical experts as they provide AMI and Grid Modernization consultation for Grid of the Future solutions that are not only technically robust but also practical to implement. With an approach to creating and leveraging AMI customer satisfaction, long term relationships and best-in-class methodology, our team supports clients and long-term partners in solving the toughest challenges facing the industry today.

This is a critical AMI practice position within Quanta Technology and is reserved for people with the passion to build an AMI practice that addresses the challenges of the Electrical Grid, conserve was /gas and improve the Customer service Utilities provide their customer.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Practice Development / Expansion – Sales/Business Development activities to grow the practice meeting booking and revenue targets.
  • Industry Participation / Recognition – Promote Quanta Technology’s AMI expertise including electrification, distributed energy, demand response and energy efficiency experience.
  • Leverage existing client contacts to grow all Quanta Technology Practices.
  • Present individual and overall, Quanta Technology competencies and offerings to customers.
  • Customer Focus – Working knowledge of core utility and AMI processes including:
      • Use Case Development
      • Feasibility Studies
      • Cost Benefit Analysis
      • Deployment & Planning
      • Field Operations
      • Customer Operations / Billing
      • Supply Chain and Logistics
      • Asset Management
      • Network Operations
      • Electric Distribution Systems / Automation
  • AMI technology and System components experience including but not limited to:
      • Meter Data Management (MDM)
      • Head End (HES)
      • Communications, specifically communications technology types and networks including Public Cellular, Radio Frequency (licensed and unlicensed), and Private LTE
      • Metering Technology
      • Customer/Back Office Integrations
      • Field Operations
      • Analytics
  • An understanding of how AMI data and functionality can be used to support future/other digital grid initiatives
  • Project Management

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Leadership and Technical expertise in the utility industry as demonstrated by previous experience, projects, involvement in technical societies, and/or patents
  • Degree in Engineering or another relevant technical field
  • 10+ years of experience with
      • Utility operations
      • Electrical Power Systems or Water / Gas Distribution Systems
      • Business Development
      • AMI Solution Architecture
      • Practice development

SKILLS & SYSTEMS

  • Business Development and Customer management
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a diverse and inclusive space
  • Ability to work in a face-paced team dynamic
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Visio, Word, PowerPoint, Etc.)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Professional Engineer (PE or P.Eng.)
  • Graduate Degree in Engineering or another relevant technical field
  • Experience in energy efficiency, demand response, and/or distribution automation

LOCATION

Quanta Technology has offices in Raleigh, NC, Markham, ON, Lombard, IL, and San Clemente, CA. We offer remote and hybrid employment that supports a blend of in-office and remote work.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Working conditions are normal for a professional office environment. Work may require overnight national and international travel.
