Perform Generation Interconnection studies, prepare study reports per ISO/RTO/Utility requirements and present findings at stakeholder meetings. Support Renewable Integration activities to perform siting analysis, identify new opportunities to interconnect and work closely with Clients in preparing and submitting interconnection applications in various markets throughout the country. Perform a wide range of planning analyses for Grid Reliability, TPL Compliance studies, FERC Order 1000 and Public Policy Windows analyzing various system conditions and arrive at recommendations for greenfield and brownfield transmission solutions based on various build-out configurations. The Advanced Testing Advisor will work closely with and learn from Quanta Technology’s team of industry-leading advisors and technical experts as they provide testing services to our customers and conduct research on emerging issues in the power industry. With experience in power system modeling and protection and control equipment, the Advisor will support hardware in the loop testing on complex protection application, on impact of inverter-based resources (IBR) on protection systems and digital substations utilizing IEC 61850. This is a critical position within Quanta Technology and is reserved for people with the passion to build innovative solutions, foster teamwork, and work with utilities on innovative solutions. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Practice Development / Expansion: Support and lead test projects on complex protection and control applications. Customer Focus: Collaborate with utilities and team members in solving technical operating problems or meeting the needs of utility and research clients. Lead or support the hardware in the loop testing of systems and solutions which are integrated with any or all protective relaying, control, remedial action schemes, and utility operational functions of SCADA and EMS as well as system analytics.
