POSITION OVERVIEW

The Senior/Lead Application Support Administrator will play a crucial role in the administration, maintenance, security, and optimization of the organization’s financial applications and databases. This position ensures the smooth operation, high performance, and integrity of critical financial systems, including those for accounting, banking, trading, and reporting.

Key responsibilities include overseeing daily operations, supporting users, managing system integrity, implementing security measures, ensuring regulatory compliance, and enhancing system performance. The role involves maintaining data accuracy, providing technical support to end-users, and offering technical guidance across the organization. The Administrator also collaborates with external consultants to meet project timelines and deliverables. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in database administration and financial application support, ensuring the effectiveness and reliability of the organization’s financial operations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee the daily operation of financial applications and databases to ensure reliable and efficient functioning.
  • Develop, document, and maintain policies/ procedures (Access/Change Management/Operations), as well as associated training plans for system administration and appropriate use.
  • Perform regular updates and maintenance tasks to keep systems current.
  • Implement robust security roles/permissions adhering to Segregation of Duties (SoD) to protect data integrity and confidentiality.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards by localizing IT controls and enforcing additional policies based on contractual or regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor the security of applications /associated systems including databases/operating systems and collaborate with the corporate security team as needed.
  • Understanding of database functionality and basic concepts is necessary. The individual should be capable of managing databases required for the applications, performing routine tasks, and collaborating with vendors or subject matter experts for complex issues.
  • Maintain documentation for operating procedures, system changes, and logs to meet SOX requirements.
  • Monitor and resolve performance/ system alerts/errors to ensure quick and accurate data processing.
  • Maintain accuracy and consistency of data across financial applications and databases.
  • Provide prompt technical support and troubleshooting assistance to end-users and ensure resolution.
  • Enter, track, and update incidents and changes in the ticket management system.
  • Serve as an advisor to senior leadership and stakeholders to ensure applications support business needs.
  • Identify areas for improvement in financial applications and databases.
  • Work with internal teams and vendors to implement enhancements and updates.
  • Assist/perform user acceptance testing of new changes in financial applications and document the results.
  • Manage system integration to streamline cross-departmental processes.
  • Create and maintain documentation for systems, processes, and procedures.
  • Generate regular reports on system performance, security, and compliance.
  • Configure specific modules such as financial management, material management, accounts payable, Fixed Assets, etc.
  • Handle import and export functionalities for data related to General Ledger, Receivables, Payments, Taxes, etc.
  • Collaborate with external consultants for specialized projects and ensure compliance with project timelines and deliverables.
  • Ensure regular backup and recovery processes to maintain data integrity.
  • Oversee and determine timeframes for IT projects including system updates, upgrades, migrations, and outages.
  • Perform installations, patches, upgrades, capacity planning, and performance tuning through an approved change management process.
  • Demonstrate project management abilities related to system updates or new implementations.
  • Provide comprehensive user training on new system features.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in information science or computer science, Associate/Diploma in IT or Engineering related field.
  • 5-7 years of experience in database administration, including installation, configuration, and maintenance and managing financial/operational/cloud/SaaS applications

SKILLS & SYSTEMS

  • In-depth understanding of at least one financial application like Deltek Vantage Point, Trimble Spectrum, ViewPoint, JD Edwards, Oracle Financials, SAP, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics 365, Infor ERP, Sage Intacct/300, Epicor ERP, IFS Applications, Workday, SAP Business One, or similar systems.
  • Expertise in at least one of the relational database management systems (RDBMS) such as Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, or PostgreSQL. Demonstrated knowledge of the operating systems – Windows
  • Understanding of Active Directory (Accounts, Groups, GPs, Security)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Science, Computer Science, or IT; certifications like Microsoft Certified: Azure Developer Associate, Certified Scrum Developer (CSD), Project Management Professional (PMP), Azure Database Administrator Associate, Oracle Database Administrator Certified Professional (OCP), CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, ITIL Foundation Certification, Azure Administrator Associate, CISSP, CISA, AWS Certified Database – Specialty
  • Familiarity with financial processes and modules like General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets, and Budgeting.
  • Some experience with scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python) for automation.

SKILLS & SYSTEMS

  • Proficiency in SQL and PL/SQL for database querying and programming.
  • Experience with middleware integration software (e.g. Boomi) a plus
  • Self-starter who can work independently while supporting the needs of the team.

LOCATION

Quanta Technology has offices in Raleigh, NC, Markham, ON, Lombard, IL, and San Clemente, CA. We offer hybrid employment that supports a blend of in-office and remote work.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • The Administrator will have to spend long hours sitting and using office equipment and computers, which can cause muscle strain.
  • Work may require overnight national and international travel.
