POSITION OVERVIEW
The position of Senior Consultant- Risk Analytics is an important position within Quanta Technology reserved for people with the ability to use technical and business skills to support projects. The Senior Consultant is encouraged to build an industry presence and aim at becoming a recognized expert in their area in the future.
Senior Consultants are responsible for executing work under the direction of power utility professionals. This role focuses on conducting quantitative and qualitative risk assessments of critical infrastructure. The consultant will work in a fast-paced, client-focused environment, helping executive leaders make informed decisions based on synthesized data and actionable insights.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform quantitative and qualitative risk assessments on power utility infrastructure, identifying vulnerabilities and evaluating their impact on system reliability and resilience.
- Analyze data from various sources (asset performance, outages, maintenance planning, etc.) to assess likelihood and consequence of failure.
- Develop and maintain risk models, heat maps, and dashboards that highlight key exposure areas across the asset lifecycle.
- Synthesize complex data into executive-level insights and recommendations, supporting client risk mitigation strategies.
- Support the development of risk registers, control libraries, and risk treatment plans
- Research and advise on regulatory compliance within the power utility industry (FERC, NERC, etc.)
- Collaborate with engineering, operations, and asset management teams to identify emerging risks and recommend cost-effective mitigation measures.
- Contribute to client reports, briefings, and presentations, ensuring clarity, precision, and strategic value.
- Keep abreast of related technical developments in the field
- Build tools and services around risk and compliance
- Be a team player, promoting overall Quanta Technology
- Follow the Quanta Technology processes, strategic directions, and vision
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics, a related field
- Minimum of 5-7 years risk management experience
- Extensive experience with quantitative and qualitative risk analysis
- Experience with tools such as @Risk, Primavera, P6 Risk Analyzer
- Evidence of previous experience in definition and delivery of risk management plans within projects
- Ability to build/enhance risk tools, where required
- Prior experience in the power utility or energy sector is a strong advantage.

- Excellent analytical skills

- Ability to respond to tight timelines and manage deliverables in a dynamic consulting or utility operations environment.
- Proficiency in creating high-quality presentations and reports (PowerPoint, Excel, etc.)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Master’s degree in business administration (MBA), Project Management, Engineering Management, or a related field.
- Certification in risk management or financial analysis (FRM, PMI-RMP, CFA, etc.)
- Prior consulting experience in a technical environment (engineering, software implementation, etc.)
SKILLS & SYSTEMS
- Experience with advanced risk modelling (VaR, Scenario Analysis, Monte Carlo Simulations, etc.)
- Knowledge of key trending risk topics in the power utility space (FERC and NERC compliance, cybersecurity, etc.)
- Familiarity with ISO 31000 and ISO 55000 standards
LOCATION
Quanta Technology has offices in Raleigh, NC, Markham, ON, Lombard, IL, and San Clemente, CA. We offer hybrid employment that supports a blend of in-office and remote work.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Working conditions are normal for a professional office environment. When working in a field or lab environment, protective personal equipment or additional safety training may be required. The role may require the ability to lift and carry equipment up to 50 pounds, stand for extended periods, and work in various weather conditions. Ability to sit, stand, kneel, and bend is required. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
