POSITION OVERVIEW
The position of Senior Advisor is an important technical position within Quanta Technology within the Substation practice area of the Asset Management business area. It is reserved for subject matter experts with demonstrated technical skills and the ability to independently write proposals, manage and execute projects, and help with opportunity identification and client management. A Senior Advisor is encouraged to build a strong industry presence and aim at becoming one of the top-recognized people in their area in the future.
Senior Advisors are responsible for leading a team of advisors or senior advisors and providing tactical advice to clients at the department, director, or manager level. These individuals must be able to understand complex industry and technical challenges and develop and lead solutions from different disciplines at the tactical level. A typical scope of work for this position includes developing solutions to complex problems that involve technical and economic perspectives.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Factory Acceptance testing of substation equipment
- Create the equipment specifications substation equipment.
- Approve equipment venders for supply of equipment.
- Evaluate quotes from equipment venders.
- Contribute quality technical content to projects in an efficient and timely manner.
- Independently write proposals.
- Provide and further develop high-quality Project Management skills.
- Develop contacts to generate projects.
- Leverage Quanta synergies and resources.
- Present individual and overall Quanta competencies and offerings to customers.
- Gain the utmost confidence and trust of the customer and be perceived as an expert in the area of expertise.
- Be a team player, promoting overall Quanta.
- Follow the Quanta processes, strategic directions, and vision.
- Keep abreast of related technical developments in the field.
- Representing Quanta Technology in customer meetings
BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT RESPONSIBILITIES
Business Development responsibilities include identifying and helping to develop strategic revenue-generating relationships with existing or potential customers. Senior Advisors typically will perform Business Development activities which result in being able to support one’s self in billable work as well as one or more other staff members. The ability to support additional staff in billable work will improve one’s assent within this position’s pay range. Assent in the pay range also requires that the technical responsibilities of the Sr. Advisor are met or exceeded.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Recognized as a top industry expert in at least one area of the utility industry as demonstrated by peer-reviewed publications, leadership in technical societies, industry awards, and/or patents
- 12 years of experience and demonstrated success in technical leadership
- Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a relevant technical field
- Experience as an SME with at least one of the following Substation equipment types:
- Power transformers
- HV, MV circuit breakers
- Switchgear (Metalclad, GIS)
- HV, MV disconnect switches
- Substation batteries and chargers
- Control enclosures
SKILLS & SYSTEMS
- Ability to work in a diverse and inclusive space
- Ability to work in a team dynamic
- Self-motivated
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Professional Engineer (PE) is a plus
- Experience in asset management
LOCATION
Quanta Technology has offices in Raleigh, NC, Markham, ON, Lombard, IL, and San Clemente, CA. We offer hybrid employment that supports a blend of in-office and remote work. Working from a remote location is a possibility.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Working conditions are normal for a professional office environment. Work will require overnight national and possibly international travel on occasion.
