POSITION OVERVIEW

In conjunction with the company’s CFO, responsible for all aspects of accounting including financial statement preparation, ad hoc reporting and analysis, management reporting, and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance.  The position involves supervision of general and project accounting managers including accounts payable, project billing, and accounts receivable. Other duties will include providing senior management with timely financial information and other related special projects.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the monthly closing and financial reporting process including review of journal entries, account analysis, and reconciliations.
  • Verify journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations for accuracy and completeness.
  • Manage day-to-day accounting of transactions, policies, controls, and procedures.
  • Ensure accurate and complete financial records and reporting, in compliance with legal requirements and US GAAP standards.
  • Responsible for timely submission of finance information to parent company
  • Provide leadership and management of the accounting team to ensure that individual growth, continuous improvement, and total quality applications are realized.
  • Maintain cost/profit operational/product reporting systems.
  • Revenue Recognition – appropriate timing/amount of invoicing for all sales
  • In conjunction with President and CFO, help prepare annual business plan and monthly forecasts.
  • Prepare, in conjunction with responses to Internal and External Audit reports and follow-up to ensure corrective action is both taken and sustained where indicated.
  • Technical accounting research as needed and document key accounting policies.
  • Continuously improve financial reporting processes to scale with the organization.
  • Assist with treasury management and company insurance coverages.
  • Providing supportive information and financial data for business forecast and inventory analysis
  • Travel to Canada periodically.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in an accounting, or related field; CPA, CMA or MBA is preferred.
  • 15+ years of related job experience, with minimum of 3+ years Manufacturing Accounting experience.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in a leadership role managing an accounting team.
  • 10 years of Cost Accounting experience including proficiency in WIP related transactions

SKILLS & SYSTEMS

  • Strong technical accounting skills
  • Knowledge of GAAP, Sarbanes-Oxley compliance, and auditing practicum
  • Proficiency in Software Revenue Recognition
  • Proficiency with accounting software packages
  • Proficiency in WIP-related transactions
  • ERP implementations and comfort with multiple systems
  • History of new ERP implementations considered an asset
  • Strategic mindset with creative and proactive thinking
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Financial acumen, with experience managing complex budgets and forecasting models
  • Cross-border (transfer pricing) experience preferred
  • Proven ability to manage complex projects and multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Ability to lead a high-performing team

LOCATION

The Controller position is located at Quanta Technology’s Raleigh, NC office.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Working conditions are normal for a professional office environment. When working in a field or lab environment, protective personal equipment or additional safety training may be required. The role may require the ability to lift and carry equipment up to 50 pounds, stand for extended periods, and work in various weather conditions. Ability to sit, stand, kneel, and bend is required. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
