Bill Snyder, Senior Vice President, Technical Consulting, has more than 28 years of electric utility experience. He has successfully led consulting engagements to review and evaluate operational processes and standards, conducted evaluations of asset condition and value, and led major process change identification and implementation programs in the engineering and operations functions. His experience in power engineering and his understanding of management needs and challenges to continuously improve operational performance provide him a unique insight into utility company operations, culture and improvement opportunities.
At Quanta Technology, Bill has consulted with electric utility and industrial clients on issues of capital budgeting and project prioritization, system planning optimization, infrastructure condition assessment and maintenance program evaluation, and equipment failure analysis and risk mitigation.
Prior to joining Quanta Technology, he performed similar consulting roles with KEMA and ABB. Mr. Snyder has over 20 years experience as a utility engineer and manager, having held numerous operations and management positions with Progress Energy (formerly Carolina Power & Light Co.). As both a utility manager and as a consultant, he has experience working with senior officers to develop and implement operational strategy to achieve new levels of operational efficiency, service reliability and cost savings.
Bill earned a BS degree in Operations Engineering from North Carolina State University and MBA degree from the Babcock Graduate School of Management at Wake Forest University. He is a member of IEEE Power & Energy Society and Industrial Applications Society.
