Quanta Technology, headquartered in Raleigh, NC, is a leading provider of expert consulting, analytical engineering, and advanced testing services to electric utilities, seeks highly motivated Senior/Principal Advisor for Distribution & Asset Operations in its Lombard, IL office.
The Senior Advisor – Distribution & Asset Operations should be an experienced utility professional with broad technical expertise in distribution engineering and planning. Responsibilities of the position include securing and leading technical projects focused on grid modernization, distributed energy resources (DER), capacity planning, load forecasting, operation and strategies for improving distribution system reliability. The successful candidate will work across all business areas of Quanta Technology keeping abreast of emerging trends, requirements, and issues related to all aspects of distribution power delivery infrastructure. The Principal Advisor for Distribution & Asset Operations will lead projects with clients and manage the resources, costs, and schedule while delivering a high quality product to our clients.
Qualified candidates will have at least 10 years’ experience in electric utility distribution engineering planning. Experience with distribution planning and reliability is required. Distribution protection, Volt/Var control, asset management and storm resiliency experience is beneficial. Candidates with consulting experience will receive priority; however, all candidates should have either direct utility, equipment vendor, or service provider experience. Active participation in industry working groups on standards and specifications is highly desirable. The ideal candidate has connections to industry leaders who has demonstrated experience and published in technical journals. In addition to technical expertise candidates must possess well rounded skills including business strategy, planning, marketing and project management. A Master’s degree in Engineering and PE license are preferred.
