Human Resources Business Partner

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) reports to Senior HR Director and is responsible for overseeing all Toronto HR related operations and works closely with the business areas to serve as a business partner to achieve company goals. This role also provides necessary support for the HR team in Raleigh as required. Preference is given to an in-person team member, with an option to work from home one or two days a week. Remote outside of the Greater Toronto area is not an option.

  • Acts in partnership with assigned teams to help leaders with all human resources related activities
  • Responsible to oversee general HR and Learning & Development activities for the Canada workforce:
    • Recruiting, Staffing and Succession Planning
    • Coordinating internship program and university partnership for internship and job fair
    • Career Development & Performance Management
    • Employee relations and engagement initiatives
    • Diversity & Inclusion programs
    • Leadership development and growth of personnel
    • Immigration cases
    • Interface, as appropriate, with business and community leaders within the area in community related events and functions

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for managing the essential resourcing & selection (recruitment) activities. This includes but is not limited to:
  • Working with hiring managers regarding the posting process, interviews, candidate correspondence and scheduling
  • Leading the efforts for university partnerships for internship and rotational CO-OP programs
  • Offer analysis and pre-offer recommendations, offer letters, follow through on contingency clearances
  • Maintains accountability and credibility as the point of contact for employees’ issues and inquiries, including, but not limited to:
    • Workplace environment
    • Performance management
    • Compensation
    • Orientation and On-boarding including related compliance and payroll documents
  • Improve and coordinate the new employee’s orientation program and training
  • Coordinate the mentorship program

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources or equivalent
  • Relevant degree(s) from accredited organizations in North America, if education is from aboard
  • Minimum 5+ years of relevant experience in the Human Resources area, including sound employee relations background. Experience in a consulting business is highly desired.

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • PHR/SPHR is preferred
  • Experience with payroll
  • Good understanding of Ontario labor law and workers’ compensation programs
  • Fluent in English, both speaking and writing
  • Computer systems (Microsoft Teams, OneDrive, Dynamics; Paychex, Ceridian)
