  • We need experienced protection and control engineers who are interested in joining our growing team of experts. As a member of our Protection and Automation group, you will work on protection short circuit studies, coordination studies, relay settings, peer reviews alongside industry leaders. Our offices are located in the US and Canada (Raleigh, Toronto, Oakland, San Clemente & Chicago). Highest priority is for our Raleigh, NC location.

These solutions cover aspects of both traditional protection and control, as well as development and utilization of innovative software automation to support power systems engineers in study, data, and management tasks.
  • Quanta Technology LLC seeks Senior Engineer (Raleigh, NC) Duties: Develop protective relay and control settings applying principles and techniques of electrical power engineering. Model power systems and protection schemes to perform analysis and studies. Develop tools relating to protective relay settings or related utility automation needs. Perform NERC PRC compliance studies in accordance with Industry Standards. Support engineering projects and develop Project Management skills. Present individual and overall Quanta Technology competencies and offerings to customers.
  • Duties: Perform advanced engineering and research studies for utility electric distribution systems and microgrids pursuing state-of-the-art technology consisting of distributed energy resources. Asses impact of photovoltaic integration to power distribution grid. Evaluate different optimization methods on power system. Perform electric power system reliability studies. Power system planning with complete knowledge of microgrid planning and cost-benefit analysis. Perform power system protection coordination and short circuit analysis. Application of principles and techniques of electric power systems engineering, review of technical documents and manuals, modeling simulation and analysis of protection and testing relays. Develop relay settings for transmission lines, transformers, Buses, Breakers and shunt reactors. Apply knowledge of new power system protection issues such as assessment of protection functions with respect to declining system fault levels and inertia due to the increased usage of power electronics in transmission systems. Miscellaneous tasks and studies utilizing variety of advanced engineering analysis tools such as ETAP, MATLAB, ASPEN, OpenDSS, etc.
  • Perform wide area protection coordination analysis using CAPE software and analyzing the coordination and sensitivity of protective relays in transmission lines which has different types of relays from Schweitzer, ABB, GE (General electric), Siemens, Alstom, etc. Evaluate NERC (North American Electric Reliability Corporation) PRC-023 and PRC-027 for different utilities in US. Application of principles and techniques of electric power systems engineering, review of technical documents and manuals, modeling simulation and analysis of protection.

  • Quanta Technology LLC seeks Principal Engineer (Transmission & Regulatory) (Raleigh, NC) Duties: Execute projects by applying high level technical skills for a broad area of electric power transmission and regulatory issues. Provide technical expertise on any power system issues associated with the planning, interconnection and operation of the transmission system as well as the generators.

Individuals in this role must build a strong industry presence and aim at becoming one of the top recognized experts in Transmission in the future.
  • Do you have technical proficiency in transmission planning skills (i.e., power flow analysis, PSS/E and PSLF), transient stability analysis, production cost modeling, and/or electromagnetic transient analysis) needed to support a Transmission Planning group? If so then Quanta Technology wants to hear from you. This position requires candidates with demonstrated technical skills and ability to independently write consulting proposals, as well as manage and execute consulting projects.
