Alex Rojas joins Quanta Technology
August 2008 – Alex Rojas joined Quanta Technology with a background in Test Operations & Design.
Alex Rojas has a distinguished career in the electric power industry. At Quanta Technology, Mr. Rojas utilizes his operation, manufacturing and design of power equipment knowledge to assist clients in defining the state of health of such key system assets. Further, his industry knowledge and keen business sense allows him to assist clients in defining and implementing maintenance programs given the specific financial constraints of each equipment owner/operator.
Immediately prior to joining Quanta Technology, he was Director of Advanced Technology at Megger. He played a key role by providing technical/business guidance to upper management and power electronics design groups at this leading world supplier of instrumentation for condition assessment of power equipment. Further, he lead the company’s technical representation across the industry by delivering presentations at technical / asset management forums.
As an engineering manager, at Beacon Power Corporation, he made major contributions to the development of innovative energy storage and power quality systems for the utility and distributed generation markets. As a senior consulting engineer, at ABB’s Corporate Research Center, he led projects ranging from applied research to the design and manufacturing implementation of power equipment. As a design engineer, at an ABB transformer design and manufacturing facility which later became Waukesha Electric Systems, he was responsible for the electrical, mechanical, and thermal design; as well as, testing of individually assigned oil-filled power transformers.
