Quanta Technology is a leading provider of expert consulting, analytical engineering, and advanced testing services to electric utilities, seeks highly motivated Project Manager for its Technical Consulting group located in Chicago area.    


The Project Manager – Technical Consulting should be an experienced Project Manager in the electric utility or IT industry utility.  The successful candidate will provide strategic leadership and direction on assigned projects, identify risk components and recommend risk mitigation strategies.  Develop, maintain and implement project management processes, procedures and documentation for all assigned projects.  Assemble and lead project resource teams assigned to support projects.  Provide documented scope, schedule, deliverables, resource needs and budget estimates for each project assigned.  Support the development of project contracts or agreements and assure compliance to the terms and conditions.  Provide periodic progress reports to management including project milestones, scope changes, budget analysis, schedule updates, and suggest needed actions to remedy problems and support the successful completion of the project.

Initiate and monitor appropriate cost accounting, invoicing and close-out of projects.  Responsible for communicating with all project stakeholders and participants providing timely responses to information and documentation needs.  Develop a cost data base for use in preparing detailed project estimates, variance reporting and budgets.


Qualified candidates will have at least five (5) years of experience as project engineer or project manager on increasingly complex projects, preferably for utility or IT industry projects.   BS/BA in Engineering, Project Management, or related discipline preferred, or equivalent combination of experience and education. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification required or obtained within one year.  Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are a basic requirement, together with an excellent written skill set.  The employee needs to be a strong team player and have strong leadership skills.  Ability to work with minimal direction, must be a self-starter, always be motivated and demonstrate confidence.  Willingness to travel as required.
