Responsible for all aspects of accounting including financial statement preparation, ad hoc reporting and analysis, management reporting and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance. The position involves supervision over the general accounting staff including accounts payable, payroll and accounts receivable. Other duties will include budgeting and planning, providing senior management with timely financial information and other related special projects.
Reporting directly to the Company President, the Controller will provide management with accurate financial information on a timely basis. Communicate to management significant trends or developments that may lead to substantial variations from plan/forecast(s) or history. Provide leadership and management of the accounting team to ensure that individual growth, continuous improvement, and total quality applications are realized. Coordinate and supervise preparation of Business Plans. Develop and maintain cost/profit operational/product reporting systems. Revenue Recognition - appropriate timing/amount of invoicing for all sales. Prepare, in conjunction with responses to Internal and External Audit reports and follow-up to insure corrective action is both taken and sustained where indicated.
The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:
- BS/BA Accounting, CPA and or MBA preferred.
- 15+ years related job experience and at least 5 years managing an accounting team.
- Strong Cost Accounting background & proficiency in developing financial models.
- Intimate with GAAP, Sarbanes Oxley compliance and auditing practicum.
- Strong interpersonal and communications skills are a must.
